Search Parties (Our Small Groups)

Our Small Group Ministry Mission statement
“To experience intimacy with God through relationships with others.”

Small groups are at the heart of Journey United Methodist Church. They are the place where the congregation most fully participates in the life and ministry of the church. Our small groups are called “Search Parties” to emphasize two important characteristics of each small group. They are called “Search Parties” because we intentionally seek out others to join us as we explore what God has to say, and search for ways to apply God’s guidance to daily life. They are called “Search Parties” because this is done in an atmosphere of joy and celebration.

What is a Search Party? A small group (of 4-10 people) which meets on a regular basis (usually 2-4 times each month) for the purpose of developing intimacy with God and intimacy with one another.

Why should I be involved? These intimate communities are the place where you experience God's love, develop a deeper love for others, and are empowered to reach out with God's love to the community at large. We do all of this through a combination of sharing, study and service time together.

If you would like to lead, host or participate in an existing Search Party, or begin a new one, please Contact Us.
